The Des Moines Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure raises funds to support the Komen Foundation mission of eradicating breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing research, education, screening and treatment.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure was established in 1982 by Nancy Brinker to honor the memory of her sister, Susan G. Komen, who died from breast cancer at 36.

Volunteers Reporting to Komen Office
The office is located at Southridge Mall on Army Post Road, on the north side of the mall, between Sears and Spaghetti's (closest mall entrance), Suite 210.

2007-2008 Grants Awarded
The Des Moines Affiliate awarded $450,000 in grants locally for research, education, screening, and treatment in our service area covering 81 counties in Iowa.  Please see the News article regarding local and national grants and awards funding.
